How To Make Irish Coffee

A hand holding a flower

Add sugar to the bottom of the glass (we like using a mason jar).

Pour in whiskey.

Fill with hot coffee. For richer coffee flavor, use strong brewed coffee or espresso instead of regular drip-brew. You can also boil the water first before pouring it over your coffee grounds.

Top with whipped cream and serve. You can also mix in a little bit of the coffee before adding the cream for a more homogenous mixture.

Note:

The temperature of your cream is very important because it melts the brown sugar as you pour it over the whiskey.

To make whipped cream, combine 1 cup heavy whipping cream, 1 tsp vanilla extract, and 2 tbsp powdered sugar in a large bowl or jar (make sure there’s enough room to whip it up).

Using an electric hand mixer, whip ingredients together until peaks form.

The cream will not thicken unless you have heavy whipping cream. Regular whipping creams won’t work for this recipe!
